- The Suspicious dinner
- Rainsford and his friend Whitney are hunters going to the Amazon. While on a yacht to go hunt in the Amazon, Rainsford hears gunshots and goes to investigate. While investigating, his pipe drops into the ocean. Lunging to get it he falls of the ship and ends up stranded on Ship Trap Island.
- The Game
- He walks on the island for a while until he sees a house on top of a cliff. He goes up the cliff to the house and knocks on the door. Ivan picks it up with a weapon threatening to hurt Rainsford. But General Zaroff lets Rainsford come in because he knows him.
- The duel
- ENGARDE
- In the house they go to the dining room to eat. They have an expensive dinner in General Zaroff's house. While they're talking he finds out he hunts humans. Rainsford does not like this idea.
- Great sleep
- After Rainsford sleeps he is forced to play the game where General Zaroff hunts him on the jungle of Ship Trap island. To evade General Zaroff he starts placing traps and moving to different areas. On the last day he jumps in the water and swims around back to General Zaroff's house.
- When General Zaroff came back, he was surprised to see Rainsford there. He thought Rainsford drowned in the water. Then he said we will duel and whoever wins will sleep in the bed. But if you lose you get fed to the dogs.
- Rainsford slept well that night.
