You will be okay, I'm just going to check what's wrong with you
Oh no I'm scared
Yes please
Before we get to that first I'll tell you about the circulatory system. The circulatory system is what moves your blood around your body, so first the blood pumps from the heart to the lungs to get oxygen. The heart then sends that oxygenated blood through the arteries to the rest of the body, then the veins bring the blood with not enough oxygen back to the heart to start the circulatory process over again. all of this is what keeps your muscles and tissues alive and healthy. Would you like me to break it down more for you?
Wow! that's a lot to take in.
There is a lot more parts to the heart such as the ventricles and atria. There is two chambers in the heart, the left and right there an artery called the main pulmonary artery which sends the blood all around your body and they have a wall called a septum separating them. On the right side we have the right ventricle which sends oxygen poor blood back to the heart. There is veins called pulmonary veins which carry oxygenated blood to the left atrium and this left atrium sends the blood to the left ventricle, this part of the heart then pumps blood through the arteries. As the blood moves through your body it collects and drops off waste products. Lastly the veins are what carry the deoxygenated blood and carbon dioxide to the heart and then they are moved to the lungs to exhale the carbon dioxide and supply the blood with new oxygen
What is that?
This is bad! You have Peripheral Artery Disease
Now we will talk about what Pulmonary artery disease is. So what's happening in your circulatory system is your arteries are narrowing and causing your blood to flow more slowly to your head, legs, arms and stomach. This reduced blood flow is damaging the tissues and cells in your organs and brain. Don't you worry though this can easily be fixed by inflating a small balloon in the narrowing artery
Yaya! I can be saved
