- 8x+4(-6x+4) =-6-5x8x-24x+16 = -6-5x
- The first step would be to distribute and we would have to distribute the 4 to the -6x and the 4.
- The equation we will be working with is 8x+4(-6x+4) =-6-5x.
- 8x+4(-6x+4) =-6-5x8x-24x+16 = -6-5x(8x-24x)-16x+16=-6-5x+16x +16x
- The third step would be to move all the variables to one side. To do this what I did was, I added 16x to both sides canceling the -16x on the left. Then adding it to the one on the right.
- Then we have to combine like terms. For this we would add the 8x and the -24x.
- 8x+4(-6x+4)=-6-5x8x-24x+16=-6-5x(8x-24x)-16x+16=-6-5x+16x +16x16=-6+11x+6 +622=11x
- The second to last step in solving our equation is going to be adding 6 to both sides which woud cancel the 6 out on the right and leave just the 11x.
- 8x+4(-6x+4)=-6-5x8x-24x+16=-6-5x(8x-24x)-16x+16=-6-5x+16x +16x16=-6+11x+6 +622=11x22/11 11/112=x
- The last and final step to solve the equation would be to divide both sides by 11 which one cancel the 11 and leave us with 2 = x as our answer.
- 8(2)+4(-6(2)+4)=-6-5(2)
- Now to check our answer we are going to plug in the 2 back into the equation.
