- Before the Missouri Compromise
- MISSOURI AND MAINE SHOULD BE A SLAVE STATE
- Due to the Missouri Compromise of the 1820, MIssouri will become a state slavery
- Maine will enter the union as a state without slavery, and Congress will draw an imaginary line across the Louisiana Purchase at latitude 36°30ʹ. In the North slavery will be banned forever but in the south it will not
- Southers kept arguing about Nat Turner’s rebellion which was one of the largest revolts against enslavement, but individual enslaved people also continued to fight against their enslavement by running away to freedom in the North.
- Later in the century...(1830)
- Compromise of 1850: the agreements made in order to admit California into the Union as a state in which slavery was illegal.
- Why is the Congress favoring the North? They shouldve keep doing what they were doing before this compromise.
- I cannot believed that the Congress is finally doing something fair for the North
- What an unfair and wicked law, the southerners should be ashamed that they support slavery
- The Nebraska act was created in 1854 that created the Kansas and Nebraska territories and abolished the Missouri Compromise by allowing settlers to determine whether slavery would be allowed in the new territories]
