- After freeing Jim's family, Huck takes up Jim's offer to live with him. Together as a family they all take the next steamship to Ohio to live out their lives in the free states

- Huck and Jim spot the sign to Cairo while sailing on the Mississippi River. They decide that it's time for them to finally take a steamship up the Ohio River to get Jim into the free states, and therefore, they navigate to the small town.

- Cairos 'coming up fast Jim, we better get ready to land 'er
- After Huck gets back to deliver the bad news to Jim, they decide to find Jim's family right now so that they can leave the next morning immediately.
- We need to go find my family right now!
- In order to raise enough money to be able to buy back Jim's family, Huck and Jim decide to get jobs wherever they can possible get them. After searching for a day, they finally reach a field where the owner is willing to give them both a job and extra money to pay for the family's freedom.
- Hmmm, I can pay you $8.00 and hour each if you are willing to work for me
- Ok that sounds great, thank you!
- Huck and Jim immediately start working once they are given he job, and their determination to get enough money pays off as they raise the amount needed to buy Jim's family
- With the money that they saved up, Huck and Jim were finally able to buy back Jim's family form slavery
