  • Good day, Ma'am Norma! I would like to ask you about a topic  I'm interested to......
  • Oh! hi, Jana! Sure. Ask anything you're curious about
  • I'd heard about stratified rocks before. I'd like to learn more about this, thus I'd like to know how stratified rocks are made.
  • You know, Janathere are four steps of stratification that leads to how rocks became stratified.
  • Come, let's sit down.
  • The first step of stratification is weathering.  The breakdown of rocks is known as weathering. Many components such as wind, water, animals, gravity, and heat assist in this process.
  • oh, I see. Weathering doesn't mean weather. HAHA
  • The second step is erosion. After it is broken down into tiny pieces, it is mixed with other elements such as water, wind, and gravity, along with humans and animals. It usually transports the rocks to other locations, such as bodies of water. This requires a specified location, which leads us to the next step;
  • what is the next step....
  • Finally, the weight of sediments might press down over time. Compaction is the process of compressing layers into smaller places.The deposited sediments will gradually degrade and merge into a single layer of sedimentary rock.
  • Deposition is the next phase. It occurs when sediments are broken down intoRock fragments fall into river bottoms, the ocean floor, and other land masses, accumulating slowly.
  • Thank you so much. Ma'am Norma. I learned a lot.
  • Those are the four steps of stratification. I hope this aids your curiosity about stratified rocks.
