  • Rome is located in Italy, which is a peninsula. The peninsula is shaped like a boat. In 700 B.C.E and Latin tribe built Rome and constructed their village on a hill.
  • The Etruscan Influence of Sports on the Romans
  • This myth is about how Rome was founded. A long time ago a princess gave birth to a princess gave birth to twin sons, Romulus and Remus. The boys father was Mars, the Roman god of war. But the boys uncle was the king and didn't want them to take his throne so he ordered his men to drown them. But then a wolf saved them and raised them as the wolf's own. Then when they grew up they decided to construct a town. Then the twins had a fight on what they should name their town and Romulus killed his brother and became the king of Rome
  • The Greek Influence of Architecture on the Romans
  • In the picture behind the person was a cuniculus which brought in water for Rome and Romans created it. The Romans were great at building because they learned about engineering and science of buildings. They had two important structures they build the arches and cuniculus. They also used arches to build huge buildings, bridges, and even stadiums.
  • The Greek Influence of Writing, Art, and Religion on the Romans
  • The Romans did a lot of sport events and they did slave fighting, which is when slaves fight until death for entertainment. They also liked chariot racing. These activities gained popularity for Rome.
  • The Romans kind of took/borrowed ideas from the Greeks for their architecture. The Greeks architecture was really important to the Romans. They even used Greek designs in their buildings. Then Romans started using concrete and started building huge buildings and one of their building could hold up to 200,000 dollars.
  • Romans culture was indirect. The Greeks alphabet was adopted and then changed. The Romans wrote in all capital letters and they used bronze or stone as paper. Mostly all Roman writers were inspired by Greeks. Also Romans art had to do with Greeks culture to. Roman sculptors and painters used Greek arts as models for their own. About Roman religion is they had their own ritual and interacted with other cultures. They also changed Greeks gods to a different name for them. A example is Zeus was changed to Jupiter.
