- Tenant farmers don't save enough to fill their own bellies. They would be abused to pay the money. This shows that zameendari system should not be used.
- In the cold, dark January night Jabra and Halku were shivering to look after the field.
- This marks the plight of tenant farmers in the zamindari system.They have to survive the cold weathers, just to look after their crops.
- This shows how the farmers are fighters and put up with the unfavorable cold in various parts of the world is mainly because of the zamindari system.
- The dipper has not climbed half the sky and it would take another 3 hours or so in this extremely cold weather.
