  • Charles the 1st was unpopular because he was unable to gain the co-operation of his parliament. His determined belief in the Divine Right of Kings led to his dismissing parliament in 1629 and ruling without them(Charles the 1st dismissing parliament)

  • The English Civil Wars comprised three wars, which were fought between Charles I and Parliament between 1642 and 1651. The wars were part of a wider conflict involving Wales, Scotland and Ireland, known as the Wars of the Three Kingdoms.(The English civil war of Charles I and parliament)

  • In 1648, Charles was forced to appear before a high court controlled by his enemies, where he was convicted of treason and sentenced to death. Early in the next year, he was beheaded.   • The Restoration of the Stuart monarchy in the kingdoms of England ,Scotland and Ireland took place in 1660 when King Charles I I returned from exile in continental Europe.   • The Glorious Revolution, also called “The Revolution of 1688” and “The Bloodless Revolution,” took place from 1688 to 1689 in England. It involved the overthrow of the Catholic king James II, who was replaced by his Protestant daughter Mary and her Dutch husband, William of Orange.(King James II Being replaced by his daughter Mary and her dutch Husband William of orange.)
