Storyboard Text

  • This is the Monke's Paw. It can grant 3 wishes

  • I WISH FOR 200 POUNDS!!!
  • HONEY!! HERBERT"S DEAD
  • In the beginning, we are introduced toa family caled the Whites'. The family is sitting in the parlor of their mid-1800's English-style home. The fireplace burned brightly. Father and son are playing chess. The White family have a guest, Sergeant Major Morris, who arrived with strage tales, and shows them a monkey's paw that can grant 3 wishes. Both father and son are at first skeptical, but it's halted by the fear of the guest.

  • IN this story, there are 2 types of conflict. One is external, which appears as man vs. fate; The White family vs. the consequences of the paw. The other one is internal, which appears as mas vs. self; Herbert vs. the 200 pound wish.
  • Falling Action
  • Sergeat Major Morris was warning the White family, but Mr. White retrieved the paw, and wished for 200 pounds. Later, the Whites' were notified that Herbert died in a work accident, and 200 pounds was left at the seen. It was like a curse. They bury their son 2 miles away at a cemetery, and Mrs. White fallsinto despair. With one wish left, they wish Herbert back, even though father thought it was a foolish thing to do.
  • Resolution
  • Out of nowhere, knocking starts on the door. Out of nowhere, they rememebr that the cemetery that they buried their son at was 2 miles away. The knocking and suspense escalates, and Mrs. White thinks that it is their dead son, Herbert. Mr. White is scraed for her, thinking that she will see a dead and magled version of Herbert, so he looks for the paw and makes the final wish.
  • HERBERT! COME TO MOMMY
  • As soon as Mrs. White gets to the door, the knocking stops, and and the suspense gets reduced. Then, she opens the door. When Mrs. White gets the door opened, there isn't anyone. She breaks down and cries in despair. She goes out and chases wat she thinks once again is her son, Herbert, to the end of the front yard. Mr. White heard the chair pulled back, then the door opened. A nice, cold breeze traveled up the staircase.
  • My Baby!!!
  • Mrs. White exhaled a long, loud, disappointment and pain filled cry. Mr. White ran down tand joined his wife outside as the street light flickered, issueing a new beginning for the White family.
