  • 1776- The United States became a nation
  • 1954-Brown vs. Board of Education
  • 1830s-The Common School Movement
  • 1963-Equal Pay Act
  • Men and women will be paid equally. Teaching our society men and women should be equal.
  • Schools would be nonsectarian; this became a problem for those who wanted their children in religious based schools.
