HenryII and Thomas becket became very good friends and he made Becket his advisor and he helped him make decisions about the law and the country.
There favourite thing to do tighter was to get drunk and chase unsuspecting woman around even though he wanted his country to be safe for all woman but this behaviour would not last for long
Henry decided that becket was such a good advisor that he made him archbishop so Henry could control the church so they wouldn’t have too much power.
Once he became Archbishop becket suddenly became very religious and started to not do what Henry wanted him to do and he started to give the church more power and more rights and was defying the king......
Becket feels to France for 6 years to escape the king but He returned because the country needed a Archbishop of Canterbury and the king and him decided to work things out but that did not work very well and things kicked off again!
The evening of 29 December 1170, four knights in full battle armour had arrived outside Canterbury cathedral, some monks told the Archbishop and rushed him to safety but he stood and said “i am am no traitor but i am ready to die”
