The Auditions/Rehersal/Play

Storyboard Text

  • In the Sillington House...
  • Hey, Nadia! Why don't you audition Ginger to play Annie's Sandy?
  • Ginger does NOT go "Arf".
  • There is one other thing...
  • Actually, Ginger is a genius. She will get the part.
  • Noah, is there any subject in the whole world that you do not know more about than any other being on this planet?
  • I learned to enjoy these.
  • Nadia, my dear, Sandy is a male. And, Fact: Ginger is not.
  • I will. They will give her the part and consider themselves lucky. Ginger is a genius.
  • Back to Ginger, you ought to let her try out.
  • The time came for the auditions.
  • Go, Arnold!!
  • AAAH!!!
  • Sorry. won't happen again.
  • NEXT!
  • Okay, now palm the treat...
  • Ginger got the part.
  • BRAVO! BRAVO!
  • Ethan always wanted to shout bravo in a theater.
  • It was almost Christmas. We all went to see a matinee of Annie
  • While we were on the bus, I heard Jared Lord and Hamilton Knapp talking.
  • tranquilizer laxative...How did you...sent biscuits...for the star dog... those four little legs will buckle, bowels won't hold...star dog Ginger out... buddy dog Arnold in...
  • Ham's mother was Ginger's vet! Nadia would never question anyone giving Ginger a gift!
  • No problem... Mother keeps a supply...easy...gave to Nadia....gift from my mother...
  • OOPS! I tripped on his shoelace!
  • So I went and found Noah and slipped a Year of the Souls penny to him and he understood.
  • They covered for me as I slipped backstage.
  • So ARNOLD was going to eat the drugged treats?
  • Hey Julian! Guess what! Arnold's going to do the matinee!
  • ARF!
  • When the play was finished and after all the players had taken a bow, Arnold-as-Sandy sat center stage. Then he turned and sat between Stage Annie and Daddy Warbucks. He sat in a circle of light and the audience went wild.
  • I could save Arnold from the treats, let him go on, and let Knapp think his trick worked. 1 for the price of 2. Or I could let Arnold eat the drugged treats, embarrass Froelich, and let Ginger go on. 2 for the price of 1.
  • Quickly, I made my decision.
  • I sat down with Ethan and Noah.
  • The first scene Sandy appeared, being chased across the stage by the dog catcher, the audience broke into spontaneous applause. They were already in love.
  • The second time Sandy was on stage, a policeman asked "Is that your dog, little girl?" and Sandy went and sat down at Stage Annie's feet.
  • But this time right before the clapping died, Hamilton Knapp and Lord began barking "Arf! Arf! Arf!" Soon, others joined and the play could not continue.
  • ARF! ARF! ARF!
  • But by the time the senior monitors got there, their hands were folded in thier laps, and lips sealed.
  • They stood and began chanting in rythm SAN-dy, SAN-dy. Knapp and Lord picked up the beat and started an under-tone of ARF! ARF! ARF! The curtain dropped and the lights came on.
  • CLAP! CLAP!
  • Arf!
  • SAN-dy! SAN-dy!
  • Mrs. Reynolds came on stage and hissed "SSSSSSITTT DOWN!!" After that, everyone left.
  • Soon After...
  • A magician once told me "Let your magic show you off, don't show off your magic."
  • Hey, wait!
  • VET IN A VAN
  • You have something growing out of your head.
  • VET IN A VAN
  • I think these belong to you.
  • VET IN A VAN
  • He will forgive me.
  • But..but.. how... whaa?
  • VET IN A VAN
  • THE END!
