  • Ivan, a novice pilot, is in the cockpit preparing for his first solo cross-country flight. He's checking his instruments and preparing for take-off. The redesigned Garmin G430 GPS unit, now with a touchscreen interface and simplified functions, is visible on the dashboard.
  • Ivan has received instructions from the tower to switch to the Departure frequency. He begins to interact with the new Garmin G430, tapping on the touchscreen where the Comm 1 frequency is displayed.
  • "N123AB, MLB Tower, contact ORL Departure on 132.65"
  • Ivan's hand shows him tapping on the Comm 1 frequency. The frequency becomes editable, and a digital keyboard appears on the touchscreen.
  • With the simplified design, Ivan quickly types in the new frequency using the digital keyboard. The stress he experienced with the old design is noticeably absent.

  • Ivan taps on 'Enter' on the digital keyboard, and the new frequency is now displayed as the standby frequency on the Comm 1 panel.
