Micheal was a Lebanese-American cardiovascular surgeon, scientist, and medical educator, who became the chancellor emeritus of Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, director of The Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center, and senior attending surgeon of The Methodist Hospital in Houston, with a career spanning 75 years.

  • Denton Cooley was an American heart surgeon famous for performing the first implantation of a total artificial heart. Cooley was also founder and surgeon in-chief of The Texas Heart Institute, chief of Cardiovascular Surgery at clinical partner Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center, consultant in Cardiovascular Surgery at Texas Children's Hospital and a clinical professor of Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

  • Benjy brooks was the first woman to become a pediatric surgeon in Texas. She was the first woman in the surgery department at Harvard Medical School and the first woman to become a pediatric surgeon in the state of Texas. She founded the pediatric surgery division at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Brooks received the Horatio Alger Award in 1983. Dr. Brooks gained admittance to the Texas Women's Hall of Fame in 1985.
  • Micheal Dell is the owner of Dell Computers which is the leading seller of personal computers. While a freshman pre-med student at the University of Texas, Dell started an informal business putting together and selling upgrade kits for personal computers. Then later On March 4, 2004, Dell stepped down as CEO, but stayed as chairman of Dell Inc.'s board, while Kevin Rollins, then president and COO, became president and CEO.
  • Howard Hughes, Sr. made drill bits for the oil industry and made much of his money on Texas oil. When Texas engaged in various mining business endeavors before capitalizing on the Spindletop oil discovery in Texas, as a result of which he began devoting his full-time to the oil business. He co-founded the Sharp-Hughes Tool Company with Walter Benona Sharp in 1909, and after Sharp's death in 1912, took over management.
