When Thomas Jefferson had just bought land from the Louisiana purchase he wanted to go explore his newly purchased land and find a continuous water route to the pacific so he sent 2 explores to go explore known as Lewis and clark

When Lewis and Clark went on their expedition they were accompanied by a native American women name sacagawea she was brought to guide them and because the people wouldn't attack a group with a Native American so it ensured some safety

we couldn't find a water route to the pacific but this land is beautiful
isn't this nice
Clark and Lewis were not able to find a continuous water source that goes to the pacific but they had explored the land and mapped that untouched territory they documented new plants and animals as part of their journey
