Rudolf Virchow discovered that all cells come from preexisting cells. He also was awarded a Copley Medal in 1892.
Theodor Schwann and Matthias Schleiden discovered cell theory. Rudolf Virchow also had some contributions to cell theory but it was mostly Theodor and Matthias.
