Nathaniel is a homeless man living on the streets of Los Angeles, formerly went to the prestigious music school, Julliard. Though, during his time at Julliard, he slowly started to develop schizophrenia, which very much hindered his social aspect of his life, leading him to eventually leave Julliard because of his condition. Although, despite that, he is a very talented musician and has a lot to show to the world.

This is Mr. Lopez. He is a journalist for the Los Angeles Times and plays a big role in Nathaniel's life. He first saw Nathaniel as a great story, but over time, he just wants to help Nathaniel and get him better, it really shows how kind Mr. Lopez is at heart. He has a wife and daughter, though, due to his long working hours, doesn't have the best relationship with either of them

Their relationship is growing constantly by the day, though Nathaniel is just having a really hard time trying to EXCEPT that even though the life that Mr. Lopez is trying to give him isn't exactly what he wants, it may be the life that will keep him safer in the end, and give him the best shot at success in the music industry. I can already tell that they are going to be very close throughout the novel and I am very excited to see where this goes.
