- I’m curious about the different aspects of it, like our traditions and values.
- That sounds interesting! Culture can be defined as the ways of life including arts, beliefs and institutions of a population that are passed down from generation to generation.

- Exactly! That diversity makes our culture rich and unique. What are some traditions in your hometown Marinduque?
- Right! The Philippines is such a diverse country with many different ethnicities, languages, and religions.
- We have a special tradition called “putong.” It’s a ceremony where we honor and welcome visitors.

- On Sundays, my family always goes to church. It’s a special place where we can concentrate on the things of God.
- Why is it meaningful for you?
- Well, during the week, between work, family, and everything else, it can be hard to focus on spiritual matters. Church helps us make that connection with God.
- You mentioned that you have a unique tradition in your hometown. How do you honor the guests?
- We crown them with flowers and shower them with petals as a sign of respect and gratitude. It’s a way to show appreciation for their visit.
