Oh, It's Just You
OH, It's just you! I though someone broke into the house.
Are you crazy?! It's just us! We decided to end out trip early.
Lights flicked on upstairs. Faces I knew, familiar and safe, smiled back at me. Relief hit like a wave, washing away my fear, but leaving a trace of embarrassment. My mind had turned ordinary footsteps into a nightmare. Sometimes, our imagination is the scariest thing in the house.

Lesson Learned
Allahu Akbar
The house returned to its normal quiet. Shadows retreated to corners, leaving rooms fimiliar again. I realized that sometimes, our minds play tricks, and fear is a story we tell ourselves before knowing the truth. I though of this as I finished praying Fajr, that Allah is truly the Knower of All Things.
