  • Diana is protesting against the sewing company with a group of girls, fighting for better wages and less hours. We know this type of conflict is being demonstrated because Diana is talking about how she fights for workers rights and disagrees with how society views workers rights and working conditions for girls.
  • This scene is occurring outside the tavern where mistress Cutler first sees Lyddie. Mistress Cutler does not like the way Lyddie looks and is hesitant to have her work at the tavern. This type of conflict is being demonstrated because it shows how Mrs. Cutler despises Lyddie and thinks of her like a stray dog. Mistress Cutler does not like Lyddie and does not want her near.
  • The bear is entering the cabin, and Lyddie is keeping calm and telling everyone to back up into the attic, while the bear roams around the cabin.The bear is in Lyddie’s cabin and this shows that Lyddie and her family in the cabin are having a nature conflict with the bear Lyddie glared straight into the bear's eyes, daring him to step forward into the cabin.
