  • Gentry at court begin discussing the possibility of engineering a Protestant succession, deposing Mary for Edward Courtenay who would marry Princess Elizabeth re-establishing Protestantism
  • January 1554
  • Plans were concluded for co-ordinated risings in Kent, Hertfordshire, Devon Leicestershire on 18th March 1554, whilst the emperors advisers arrived to negotaite the marriage between Mary and Philip
  • 3rd February 1554
  • The terms of the marriage treaty where announced by proclamation, provoking the rebels to act
  • 12th February 1554
  • Renard catches wind of the plot and courteney was made to confess all he knew of the plot, 3/4 locations didn't raise supporters but in Kent Wyatt raised 2500 men, the Duke of Norfolk was chosen to stop Wyatt but was forced to return when his troops joined Wyatt
  • Wyatt reaches the Thames at Southwark
  • Wyatt led his troops 20km west of Kingston, before being stopped at Ludgate, half a kilometre from the Queen at the Tower, Wyatt and his supporters were forced to surrender and ask for mercy
