The Stamp Act made all of the colonists pay a tax on any type of paper item. This included newspapers, playing cards, and anything else that was paper with a stamp. This act was created to help pay for some financial issues.
This is crazy! They are taxing us on paper items?!
Yes! Anything that has a stamp on it. They are calling it the "Stamp Act."
The Quartering Act was the act that forced colonists to welcome any British soldiers into their homes. They were also forced to provide them with salt, vinegar, beer, and cider. They soldiers would come in and not do anything, and they would sit on the couch and take up space.
The Townshend Acts was a tax that went on most British made items. This could include tea, paint, glass, and paper, which was all taxed. The colonists boycotted this idea by not buying anymore British goods.
I am not paying tax on my tea! I am not purchasing anymore British items.
I will help by making all of my dresses and creating tea out of pine needles.
