- Hester consoles Dimmesdale
- Dimmesdale is upset
- Hester and Dimmesdale talk it out
- Hester catches up with Dimmesdale in the wilderness and talks about the past few years. He tells her about his sadness and Hester helps console him. Hester tells him about Chillingworth's secret.
- Hester wants to go along
- Hester tells Dimmesdale that she still loves him and he responds with anger. Hester is upset by this so she falls to the ground and cries while begging for his forgiveness. He forgives her and says Chillingworth has the worst sin.
- Hester take the 'A' off
- Hester wants Dimmesdale to leave so he can get away from these people. He doesn't think that he can do it alone so he asks Hester to go with him. Hester is hesitant.
- Dimmesdale meets Pearl
- Hester agrees to go with Dimmesdale. They plan on leaving this community and finding another one to start a new life.
- Hester is now relieved and takes off her scarlet letter "A", she also takes her hat off and lets down her hair. This lets sunshine hit her face and hair.
- Hester wants Dimmesdale to meet Pearl and he is reluctant at first but Hester insists so he agrees. Pearl slowly walks towards them Pearl notices that the scarlet letter "A" is gone.
