Orthomyxoviridae is the virus that causes Influenza A.
Orthomyxoviridae has an envelope and is spherical.
Influenza A is transmitted through direct contact, contact with contaminated surface, and inhalation of virus infected aerosols.
Symptoms of Influenza A are coughing, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, fever, headache, chills, and body aches.
A few vectors of Influenza A are birds, swine, and other humans.
If you get Influenza you should drink lots of water and get a lot of rest.
Influenza vaccines are a preventative step to avoid getting the disease.
If infection is serious you will be prescribed an antiviral.
5%- 10% of people in the US get the flu every year.
Influenza A is more prevalent in Southeast Asia, then spreads throughout the rest of the world every year.
In 1918 almost 50 million people died from Influenza. This was one of the worst pandemics in the world.
It is more common to get Influenza during the winter months in the US.
