  • Yes, hi I am Angelica. How are you? I hope to impress you and I'm eager to start a new job as soon as possible.
  • Hi, are you Angelica applying for the new Medical Assistant job? I'm Kristina the Medical Director here at South Side Hospital.
  • I graduated NYU medical school with a full scholarship in 2016. While attending NYU I got the chance to intern at multiple clinics. the past years I’ve been looking hard for a job that’s perfect for me; that’s when I found this job.
  • So Angelica tell me about yourself.
  • Yes, plenty. When I was still attending NYU I interned at several clinics in the area as an observer, shadowier, and even got the chance to treat patients a few times. Once I graduated I then worked at a pediatric office in milburn nj for the past two years.
  • Do you have any experience? If so, please elaborate.
  • Eventually I would like to become a full time nurse or even a doctor. I would have to go back to school for sometime of course but, I love what I do now.
  • How would you like to advance in this profession?
  • Great question! First thing is that this is where you will be working. Throughout the day there are several patients coming in for appointments, check-ups or simply because they are feeling under the weather. Make sure you greet everyone when they come in and that they sign in as well as any additional paperwork they may have to fill out. It is also important to answer the phone when it rings. There will be a variety of things people may call about including: questions, remedies, and to make appointments.
  • What does a typical day look like?
  • Well, we would like you to start immediately. Since you have experience from a different practice; you would shadow one of our medical assistants to see how she goes about her day. This will help you adjust and get into the flow of how things are ran around here. You can look to your assigned medical assistant as a mentor and feel free to ask her any additional questions or curiosities you may have.
  • Okay sounds good! How will I be trained and how soon?
