- When they heard this sound, a crowd formed in curiosity, because each one heard their own language being spoken.
- On the day of Pentecost, Jews from different distances would travel to Jerusalem to celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit and feast. The disciples and Mary were in the upper room, praying.
- Suddenly, a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what appeared to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of their heads.
- All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in foreign languages as the Spirit enabled them...
