Storyboard Text

  • When ruby bridges was in kindergarten she had to go to a school that was very far away because of segregation. When segregation was still around blacks and whites couldn't be together there were white schools and black schools, but on november 16 1954 the supreme court said schools should not be segregated so children can get the best education they can.
  • When it was 1960 she passed a test inside of kindergarten making her able to go to a white school. That made her the first black child to go to an all white school.
  • They met years later and Barbara Henry was so proud of the woman ruby has become. Ruby still speaks for school justice to this day. She has started the Ruby Bridges foundation. She talks to so many groups about school justice which is still a problem to this day. It's amazing how she had inspired so many when she was 5 and still inspires people to this day.
  • ( They are saying insults)
  • On Ruby's first day of kindergarten people were upset that she was going to a white school. They yelled at her and threw things at her ,But she did not care se continued to walk to school. Barbara Henry was her teacher, Ruby was the only student in her class. Her teacher can teach her one on one.
