Storyboard Text

  • Wow I love this walk I wonder what would happen if I start to run?
  • While I'm running I am using my nose and mouth because that's how the air enters the respiratory system. The nose have nasal cavities where the air flows in and out. I'm also using my trachea to carry air in and out of the lungs. It's made up of about 20 rings of tough cartilage the back part of each ring is made of muscle and connective tissue. What other organ am I missing?
  • During the act of breathing in and out, the alveoli are where the lungs and blood exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide.
  • Oh yeah the lungs!!! The lungs is probably the most important organ in the respiratory system. They bring oxygen in our bodies and send carbon dioxide out. The main features of the lungs include the bronchi, bronchioles and the alveoli.
  • Woah I'm using a lot of organs without even knowing. This run is fun! Lets explore more of the respiratory system.
  • So, what exactly is cellular respiration? Cellular respiration is a series of metabolic reactions and activities that occur in organisms' cells to convert chemical energy from oxygen molecules or nutrients into adenosine triphosphate and then release waste products.
  • Our respiratory system also has a feature called gas exchange. Gas exchange is a physical process in which gases flow over a surface by diffusion.
