- NO BLANKERS IN OUR SCHOOL!!
- Meggie McGregor has worked for Jasmine Hadley for 14 years, and over this time they have formed an unlikely friendship between 2 social classes. However, Jasmine fired Meggie due to her not keeping secrets about her husband Kamal Hadley.
- Their children, Callum and Sephy have formed an even closer bond over the years. They usually hang out at the beach, where they share secrets and once even a kiss.
- Sephy, you need to get out of here NOW!!
- On the first day of school, 4 noughts including Callum are starting at a new school - Heathcroft. The crosses are not at all happy about this change, Sephy hurts Callum by in an act to help him calling him a blanker.
- Callum, why didn't you come?
- Callums sister Lynette dies after regaining her sanity and remembering who she was. Unable to cope with being second class she commits suicide by running in front of a bus.
- Callums family have joined the Liberation Militia, a violent paramilitary organisation against the cross supremacy. The L.M plant a bomb in the mall and Callum goes to save Sephy, where she assumed he was the one who planted the bomb when it was his older brother Jude who warned him.
- Sephy decides she will attend chivers boarding school. Before she leaves she writes Callum a letter saying that he is the only thing that will stop her from leaving. But Callum revives the letter too late and doesn't reach her in time.
