  • On January 21, 1793, King Louis XVI was executed. This was a major event in the revoultion. He was publicly executed in at "the Place de la Reveloution" ("Revolution Square). He was sentenced to the guillotine . He was tried for treason- he wanted his power back. 
  • November 9-10, 1799 - End of French Revolution
  • From September 1793 to July 1794, the reign of terror occured. It was a mixture of both internal and external conflicts. Other countries created conflict with France. France had a radical government led by Robespirre. While all of this external conflict happened, excessive executing was happening within France. Any critisisim of the government could have serious conflicts. 
  • On July 27, 1794, the Thermidorian Reaction occurred. This marks the fall of the Reign of Terror. Robespirre was arrested and executed. He was sentenced to the guillotine. Robespirre had started to lose a lot of his followers. The rest of the people and the government made the desicion to execute him, due to his extreme ideas and actions.
  • November 9-10 marked the end of the French Revolution. The government system was overthrown. Boneparte became a part of the government. He would go on to be the dictator of France for the next 15 years. This was the next step of history in France.
