"The Tell-Tale Heart"

Climaxclimax is the turning point of a story. The narrator sees the old man's vulture eye and decides to kill him then and there. "I kept the ray shining steadely upon the eye... the beat of the heart grew quicker and quicker... With a loud yell, I threw open the lantern and leaped into the room. He screamed once...The old man was dead."

Falling ActionFalling action is the start of wraping up a story. The narrator chops up the body and hides it under the floor boards before the police arrive. "First I cut off the head and the arms and the legs. Then I took up three planks from the floor and put the pieces in the space underneath...When I finished someone knocked at the street door... Three policemen came in."

ResolutionResolution is the outcome of the conflict. The narrator talks to the police and thinks that he heres the old man's heart beating and eventually confesses. " It was a low, dull, quick sound... Was it possible they did not hear... "Villains!" I screamed. "Enough! I admit to the deed! Tear up the planks! Here, here! It is the beating of his hideous heart!"
I can hear it, the beating of the wretched man's dead heart! I admit to the deed! Tear up the planks, just make it stop!
