A mother and her son attend Church every Sunday; this Sunday was a little different as the Church was celebrating Baptism.
Son, baptism is one of the seven sacraments, it celebrates welcome and rebirth. This sacrament is where God recognizes you into his Kingdom, allows you to identify as a Christian through the waters of new life, forgives you of all your personal sins, providing you with a spiritual resistance to sin and temptation, and gives grace.
Mom, the Priest didn´t do this last weekend, what is baptism?

Yes son, it is a very memorable moment for many families; baptism includes many different rituals/symbols which also adds to it´s significance. The sacrament of baptism includes four specific rituals/symbols: a white garment which symbolizes the newness of life in Christ, a lighted candle which symbolizes sharing the light of Christ, oil which symbolizes healing, strength, and being chosen, and water which symbolizes cleansing and lifegiving.
Wow mom! I´m glad I got to experience baptism, it was very interesting to see.

I would love to participate in the sacrament of baptism; I would be welcomed into God's kingdom, cleansed of my own personal sins, and identify as a forever Christian. Many benefits would come with this: growing closer with God, being able to resist any sins and temptations, and would ultimately create an ongoing practice within my family.
