Resolution
Jing-Mei decided she didnt want to listen to her mother anymore. She confronted her mother and told her she didnt want to play or do anything. Her mother yanked her to the piano. Her mother was furious yelling there was only two kinds of daughters, obedient, and those who follow their own mind. Jing-Mei had enough and started shouting back saying she wish she wasnt her daught and how she wishes she were dead like them. Her mother was left speechless.
Years later, Jing-Mei still dissapointed her mother, not getting into Stanford, bad grades, didnt become class president, and she dropped out of college. Her mother completely lost hope in Jing-Mei, she stopped piano lessons.
For her 30th birthday, her mother gave her a piano and her mother was certain she could still play the piano. Her mother wasnt angry or sad at Jing-Mei. Months later her mother died and decided to play the piano and realized that "Perfect Content" and "Pleading Child" were two halves of the same song.
