- Victor got his schedule and on his way to homeroom ran into his friend Michael. “How come you're making a face?” Victor asked. Michael explained that the girls would look at him if he scowled.
- CLIMAX
- Victor got to homeroom where the teacher took roll call and handed out bulletins to each one of the students. He thought of Teresa, who sat a few rows back, reading a book. He hoped that she would be in his other classes too.
- FALLING ACTION
- Teresa wasn't in his English class, Math class, or Social Science class. At lunch he looked for Teresa and found her outside under a plum tree chatting with one of her friends. Victor daydreamed about taking her to a movie.
- RESOLUTION
- "Bonjour!" said Mr. Bueller in French class. Victor wanted to impress Teresa so when Mr. Bueller asked if anyone knew French, Victor's hand shot up. "La me vave me con le grandma." Victor replied to Mr. Bueller. It was clear he didn't know French.
- Victor ran out of class, but forgot his math book. When he returned, Teresa stood in front of him. She asked if he could help her with French. "Sure, anytime." Victor said, sweating. Mr. Bueller remembered when he was in college and understood him.
- After French, he had Metal Shop. Then after Metal Shop, he had Biology. Once school was over, Victor ran over to the public library and checked out three French textbooks so he could actually help Teresa with her French.
