- i chose to put this setting like this because in page 69 Montressor said "It was almost dark, one evening in the spring, when I met Fortunato in the street, alone.". This setting makes the scene mysterious and you know that something bad is going to happen. It makes me feel interested in what Montressor is going to do to Fortunato to get revenge.
- "As he spoke, Fortunato took my arm, and I allowed him to hurry me to my great stone palace, where my family, the Montresors, hadlived for centuries. I took down from their places on the wall two brightly burning lights. I went down before him, down under the ground, deep under the old walls of my palace." This quotes helped me create the setting for this part because they are talking about a stone palace and a place underground where they had to bring brightly burned lights. This quotes makes the mood scary and mysterious because it is talking about a dark underground place.
- I was able to create the setting by using this quotes "Throwing them to one side I found the stones which earlier I had taken down from the wall. Quickly I began to build the wall again, covering the hole where Fortunato stood trembling.". Using this quotes i added things to the setting like the bones and the stones. The mood this setting creates is fear and terror because it is a place that has bones scattered all over the place which makes you think that a lot of people were killed down there.
