- Workers had it bad in the 1960s as their managers and construction companies didn't care much for their employee's harsh working conditions.
- we want an increase on our salaries, better equipment , PPE, compensation for injuries and insurance.

- The workers always talked about how their work-life sucked, some even accepted the conditions, while others were not happy with how they were being treated.

- My fellow workers its been too long our demands have ben ignored and our right putted aside for what we deserve for our work. we are not paid properly and there is no compensation for us at all, I say we should on strike, AMANDLA!!!!
- Eventually, though everyone got so tired of it they found a trade union so that their demands would be heard by their employers, and the trade union organizer was able to recruit many members.
- But the manager refused to bargain or negotiate with his employees.
- Ha! you think I have to bargain with you? I'm not required to listen to what you want, and you better get back to work before you get fired. Otherwise you are getting nothing from me.
- This lead to workers forming bigger unions and going on strike or walking off the job in big groups to get their point through.
