- His eyes are pale colored, while every one else's are black aside from that he wears the same clothes as everyone else, and has brown hair. The author portrays him as a good guy wanting to get out of his community. Lastly, My thoughts are that I feel bad for Jonas realizing they kill babies.
- Asher
- "Asher had thrown the apple back and forth and had begun a simple game of catch."

- The Giver has a grey beard, is older and, wears the same cloths as everyone else. The author portrays him as the hero with Jonas. Lastly, My thoughts on the Giver is that I feel good for him because he finally gets to rest after his work is done in the community.
- Dad
- Lily looks similar to every girl her age. Author throughout the book portrays her as the person with a good attitude and is not aware of how corrupt her community is. Lastly, I feel bad how she has to live in a corrupt community for the rest of her life.
- Fiona
- Nothing stands out from Asher aside from him being clumsy and playful. Author portrays him as the friend of Jonas earlier in the book. Lastly, I feel bad how Asher has to live in a corrupt society like lily.
- Has brown hair and is the same as any other man his age. The author portrays him as a person who does bad things because he believes it's right and has no emotion. Lastly, my feelings about the character is that he is the physical version of evil.
- "Once it's morning it's goodnight for you Gabe."
- Jonas
- She has dark eyes, and red hair like other her age in the community. She is portrayed as someone who is eager to help older people. I feel good yet bad because on one hand she gets an assignment she really likes. On the other hand however she lives in a corrupt society where they kill babies.
