- EXPOSITION
- You guys want to go and see a dead body?
- CONFLICT
- We're going to have to walk at least twenty miles.
- 'How far is it, do you think?'
- RISING ACTION
- Come back here or I'll send my dog after you!
- The Story introduces us to a group of four friends; Gordie, Chris, Teddy, and Vern. Gordie remembers hearing that a boy from his age (Ray Brower) had been missing for three days. he had been picking wild fruit in the forest.
- CLIMAX
- ¨At the bottom of the bank was a boggy, smelly mess of bushes, and appearing out of the bushes was a single, pale, white hand¨.
- The kids decide to go into the woods to find Ray Brower's body. At first, they are afraid because if their parents find out they are in the forest, they would be beaten and abused, as each child suffered abuse at their respective homes.
- FALLING ACTION
- I'll see you in school on Wednesday
- I told my wife I was going out to get a drink. I drove out of town, parked and cried for him. I cried for nearly half an hour without stopping. Me? I'm a writer now.
- For their adventure, none of the boys brought anything to eat or drink, so they arrived at Milo's dump to collect water. There they meet a dog named Chopper, who is said to be a fierce and evil dog.
- RESOLUTION
- After a long road with many adversities, the children find Ray's body, but to their surprise, Ace Merrill and his gang were also looking for the body, in order to report it and become famous.
- JESUS!!!
- After being away from home for more than a day, the boys decide to return to CastleRock and go back to their "loved ones", even though their parents will probably beat them up when they arrive. However, when Gordie returned home, no one noticed him.
- Time has passed, Gordie is now an adult and has become a famous writer. The children have passed away due to different eventualities and tragedies of life, but Gordie continues to write stories to honor his faithful companions in this adventure.
