- Pepin becomes Mayor of the Palace after Charles Martel dies
- Pepin, you are the new Mayor of the Palace because Charles Martel has died.
- Charles Martel becomes Mayor of the Palace. Before Charles Martel became the Mayor of the Palace, the governing was weak because of the weak rulers. The Franks needed a good leader to step up. Well, that new leader was Charles Martel. When Charles Martel became Mayor of the palace, the church adored him because he wanted the Frankish nobles to reunite under his rule. Before long, Charles Martel gained the support of the church. Charles Martel was a strong and brave leader. He was known as "The Hammer" because of his strength in battle.
- The Battle of the Tours was a battle fought in 732 by the Franks and the Muslims. This battle was one of the most important battles in European history. The Franks were led by "The Hammer" or Charles Martel. The Muslims and Franks fought because of their religions. The Franks' religion was Christianity, and the Muslims' religion was Islam. The Franks won the Battle of Tours which enabled Christianity to survive in western Europe.
- On 741, Charles Martel died which meant there needed to be a new Mayor of the Palace. Pepin, Charles Martel's son, became the new Mayor of the Palace. Pepin removed the king and started a new dynasty. Pepin was the first king to be anointed. Pepin defended the Pope from the the Lombrads. They defeated the Lombrads and gave the land the Lombrads owned in central Italy to the Pope. This gift of land made the Pope the political ruler of most of the Italian Peninsula. All of this happened with the help of Pepin.
