  • Gunpowder is an explosive black powder used in many military weapons.
  • Wood is burned and the heat of charcoal and other items cause an explosion.
  • In the modern world, many creations such as guns and explosives use gunpowder.
  • Gunpowder is an explosive that is made of saltpeter, sulfur, and charcoal. The charcoal is used as a fuel, the saltpeter is the oxidizer, and the sulfur is used for as stabilizer which allows a constant reaction. Gunpowder was invented during the late Tang Dynasty, while the earliest recorded chemical formula dates back to the Song Dynasty.
  • The back powder consists of a fuel, oxidizer, and a stabilizer. The carbon and oxygen combine to create carbon dioxide and energy. Once heated the gases expand and begin to warm up the powder causing a reaction. The materials will burn rapidly and explode as a propellant, used in many weapons for war.
  • Overtime, more and more people discovered the use of gunpowder for modern weapons. Since gunpowder is something that can be largely produced, it has many purposes. It is commonly used in the military when it comes to firearms, ammunition, rockets, and explosive devices. Gunpowder allowed for countries to have large supplies of ammunition for possible wars that could occur. Which impacts how well countries do.
