- Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
- Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. For this my son was dead, and is alive again. He was lost, and is found.
- Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.
- Help me please!
- Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
- A man was badly beaten and robbed. He was left for dead on the side of a road. The man was passed by multiple people who ignored his cries for help until a Samaritan passed by him. The Samaritans were hated by Jews but when the Samaritan saw the man, he took pity on him. He bandaged him and cleaned his wounds. He then put him on the back of his donkey and took him to an innkeeper, whom he paid to look after him.
- Christians were persecuted.
- Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
- Guards! Arrest these Christians!
- Amen.
