Lukey, I'm really sorry but all of you're friends can make it.
Hey, sorry Chez. Mark can't make the sleepover. sorry.
oh okay.
Hey, Don't be disheartened about you're friends. Why don't you ask if some of your mates from primary school wanna come?
Once there was a boy called Luke. During the school holidays he was going to have a huge sleepover with all of his mates!
Luke all sad about his friends excuses but his Mum giving him other options,
Hummm.. maybe. I'll text them
They we're going to sleep in a tree house and tell spooky stories all night long!
Lukeys sleepover with his old primary school buddies
But, just as everything was ready to go and Luke was just waiting for all of his friends Luke's mum received a bunch of texts from Luke's friends Mothers opting out of Luke's sleepover.
Moral of the story.
The main message from my story and 'The Great Banquet' is to be hospitable and kind to all but to also help all those who need it too!
Then, just as Luke was beginning to feel cheated upon and upset about the fact his friends are no longer coming to his sleepover as they were all making excuses , his mum suggested that maybe he could invite some of his old friends from primary school instead of sitting there reading the messages Lukey was now getting from his mates.
Hey Bro, cant make the sleepover. stuffs just been a bit crazy.
Sorry i can't make it Bro. I'm not feeling great today
Luke's 2 old best mates arrived in minutes. They ended up having a great time talking about everything that's happened since they last hanged out and telling spooky stories. Yet, most importantly Lukey had so much fun and learned even more about his old buddies.
After his 2 friends left his house the day after, Luke felt really grateful for having those boys as his friends and realized he would not have had as much fun with his other mates. He learned that you should be kind and hospitable to others but also help those who need it most. Just like in the parable of the great banquet where the master welcomed in the hungry and poor for a meal.
