- The Civil conflict has begun with the Southern assault on a Union-involved Fort Sumter off the bank of South Carolina, the main state to withdraw. The Confederates are headed to assume control over the stronghold after a fruitful assault.
- Driven by General Stall Jackson, the Confederacy had the option to battle off a Union assault at Bull Run. This gave the South certainty they could win
- At last! The Union have won a fight, the Battle of Shiloh here in Tennessee
- Tragically, the Battle of Shiloh is the deadliest fight in US History up until this point.
- This is the skirmish of Antietam, the different sides halted in this fight and it finished as a draw, however the Union celebrated as though they won. Abraham Lincoln gave the Emancipation Proclamation after this fight
