  • The main theme in Act 2 Scenes 1 and 2 is the importance of titles, such as names. Romeo and Juliet can not be together because they work for opposing ice cream stores. Juliet notes that the name on their employee shirts has nothing to do with who they are as a person. She says that if Romeo were to cover his shirt and cover the Cold Stone logo, he would still be Romeo. This theme is also evident in the original play, where Juliet says Romeo would still be Romeo even if he changed his last name.
  • In this retelling. Romeo and Juliet's main conflict stems from their different stores of employment, and their bosses competitive nature. Romeo and Juliet want to be together but their bosses forbid it because they work for differently named ice cream franchises. Similar to the original play, where Romeo and Juliet come from opposing families.
