- The conquistadors of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella defeat the remaining Moors. The last Muslim region of Granada surrendered on January 2, 1492.
- The Exploration
- I will now set sail for the west!
- The Catholic faith was "the true faith." If you were a Jew or Muslim you had to choose from two options. 1, Leave the liberain peninsula, and 2, convert to Christianity
- Part 2
- This is now Spain's land.
- The pope thought that all of the people didn't convert so they had a plan. The Pope made the police question people if they were really Christian or not, if they weren't, they were executed.
- The Spanish wanted to explore undiscovered lands because the routs to the East around Africa were already explored by other countries.The Spanish monarchy had religious, economic, and political motives for building its empire.
- Instead of Asia they landed in the gulf of Mexico and met up with the Aztec and started claiming land for Spain.
