Trout liked Kate but she didn't like him back she was in love with Sam. Tourt tried to kiss Kate one time and she backed away and this made Trout mad. Trout had found out that Kate and Sam loved each other, so he made a plan to get rid of Sam.
Climax
Trout Walker was mad that Sam had kissed Kate, so Trout shot him and that killed sam. Since Trout shot Sam it never rained in Green Lake again.
Resolution
Kate was a teacher that cared for her school house, so she asked sam to help her fix it. He said yes for exchange for her spiced peaches. Kate loved to have him around so she found more things for him to fix. Once the school house was done she had feel in love with him so she kissed him, but sadly Sam got in trouble for that and paid with his life.
Denouement
After Sam's death she became Kissing Kate Barlow, and everyone is scared of her. After she had killed her victims she would kiss them on the cheek, and that would leave a red lip mark on their cheek. That's how you would know they were killed by Kissing Kate Barlow.
The Walker's captured Kate so that she would tell them where she had hidden the treasure, but Kate would never tell them. Kate put a curse where it would take decades before they would even be close to finding the treasure.
After setting the curse Kate picked up a yellow spotted lizard, and said her goodbyes. Then the lizard bit her, but Kate died smiling knowing the Walkers would never find the treasure and she could see Sam again.
