- We need a place to hide. Can you help us?
- Stay here until the guards leave. Don't make any noise.
- Joshua sends the spies to investigate Jericho. "לְכ֛וּ רְא֥וּ אֶת־הָאָ֖רֶץ וְאֶת־יְרִיח֑וֹ" (Joshua 2:1)
- No. I think think they went the other direction.
- Are there any Israelite spies here?
- The spies need a place to hide. Rahav meets the spies, and tells them to hide on her roof גָּ֑גָה.
- Please save my family when you attack Jericho, and I will be faithful to god.
- We will. Tie this crimson string around your window so we will know who you are.
- Rahav hides the spies - מרגלים.
- God has given us the land - נָתַ֧ן יְהֹוָ֛ה, the people fear us. We will win.

- The guards ask Rahav if the spies are hiding with her. "ה֠וֹצִ֠יאִי הָאֲנָשִׁ֨ים הַבָּאִ֤ים אֵלַ֙יִךְ֙ אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֣אוּ לְבֵיתֵ֔ךְ כִּ֛י לַחְפֹּ֥ר אֶת־כּל־הָאָ֖רֶץ בָּֽאוּ׃" (Joshua 2:3)
- The spies make a promise - שבועה, to Rahav, and they give her a crimson string - תקות השני to tie to her window - חלון.
- The spies report back to Joshua what they found. The end!
