- Why- how could I love him- possibly?
- The scene shows the fight between Gatsby and Tom. Tom finally knows the truth about Daisy and Gatsby. Fitzgerald showed the tension between everyone but mostly Gatsby and Tom by saying how hot it was.
- It is so hot..
- You never loved him!
- In this scene Gatsby and Daisy were driving home but hit Myrtle. When Mr. Wilson sees the car that hit him and remembers that it was the same car that Tom was driving before. When Tom comes over to see what happened he has to convince it was not him.
- Beat me! Throw me down and beat me , you coward!
- That is Tom's new car.
- I don't trust him, I plan to stay here all night if I have too.
- Even though Tom lost a lot in this chapter, I feel like Daisy isn't going to leave him anytime soon which makes him more of the winner, even though Daisy will keep loving Gatsby.
- This scene is after the accident with the Wilsons, Daisy is freaked out because she hit Myrtle, while Tom is upset since Myrtle was the other woman he was talking too and she is now no longer here.
- Tom and Daisy both arrive home and decide to talk, while outside Gatsby waits just in case Tom does anything to Daisy but Nick states how Tom isn't thinking about Daisy right now, especially hurting Daisy.
