Good morning ma’am and classmates we are the first group and we are about to report and discuss the significant events happen in the year 1912 to 1930’s in flights.
So the first one is in the year of 1912, Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin set up the first commercial airline, using a form of the dirigible to transport more than 34,000 passengers before World War I. Then the next year 1914 to 1918, the World War I has further accelerated the expansion of aviation. Then prior to World War I, the public's interest in flying was peaked by demonstrations and airplane races then during the war, government subsidies and demands for new airplanes vastly improved techniques for designing and building them. So, the next year will be presented by our next two member.
So to continue the next year which is during the 1920s the European governments heavily subsidized the establishment of such well-known commercial airlines as British Airways, Air France, and KLM. In this year also the primary little commercial carriers had started to carry mail, and the expanded speed and run of aircraft made conceivable the primary nonstop flights over the world’s seas, posts, and landmasses.
In addition flying in this year was too an awkward encounter for travelers since it was super boisterous and cold, as planes were made of uninsulated sheets of metal that shook uproariously within the wind and the cabins were too totally unpressurized.
Then through the year 1925 the U.S. government began paying generous subsidies to private carriers to deliver the mail, and some companies began hauling passengers as well. There are many well-known U.S. carriers were established during this period, including Pan, United Airlines, American Airlines, TWA, and Delta. Moving on, during the year 1927, the open intrigued in discuss travel developed after Charles A. Lindbergh 's transoceanic flight.
Lastly during the 1930s, there was this improved air safety which Boeing's and Lockheed's decision to produce airplanes that were especially designed for commercial airlines helped the number of passengers grow from only a few thousand a year in 1930 to about 2 million in 1939 and 16.7 million.
So that's all for our group report Thank you everyone for listening!
